however we are closed each monday lunchtime from 1:00pm to 2:00pm for staff training. mission statement: “the aim of all the people who work at appleby surgery, whatever their role, is to use their particular skills to ensure that our patients receive the best overall experience around the health care which we provide for them. we always seek to be welcoming, considerate and professional, aiming to deal with people in the same way that we would expect ourselves and our families to be dealt with. we aspire to use our skills and up to date knowledge to work with our patients in delivering the very best of medical care across the physical, psychological and social realms in which our help is needed. we are an organisation where everyone’s role is regarded as an important element of the whole and that we are strong when we are united in our purpose.” appointments appointments patients’ are allotted a 10 minute slot with our clinicians unless otherwise specified. longer appointments may be required for annual reviews. appointments can be made by: >calling at reception >telephoning during surgery opening hours >online via emis access by clicking here you can see any doctor at the practice, not just the one with whom you are registered. we would encourage you to follow through an illness with the same doctor. we release urgent appointments daily to allow people to get a same day appointment which involves ringing or coming into surgery at 8:30am on the morning you wish to be seen. evening and weekend appointments we now have additional appointments available at a time to suit you – after 6.30pm on weekdays and also on saturdays and sundays through the day. bank holidays are also covered by this new initiative. this has been organised by us, in partnership with other practices in north tyneside. these appointments are all pre-bookable so, if you need an appointment in the evening or the weekend because you are busy during the week, then please continue to arrange it through your own gp practice. many of these appointments will available on the same day that you call your practice if you need to make an appointment to be seen quickly. we have appointments until 8pm every weekday and on saturdays and sundays, to see a doctor (gp), nurse or health care assistant. some of these appointments are at hubs or central locations to suit you, but they are all provided by local doctors and nurses and they have full access to your patient notes. please remember to ask your practice administration team. if you are calling to arrange an appointment at the weekend, please call the team at battle hill health centre on 0191 295 8520 and they will be happy to help. repeat prescriptions repeat prescriptions repeat prescriptions must be agreed between you and a doctor during a face-to-face consultation. repeat prescriptions can be ordered: via the practice website by signing repeat dispensing consent form by handing in a prescription counterfoil/order form at the reception desk by posting the signed counterfoil to the surgery by telephoning the surgery between 11am and 4pm to speak to a receptionist or anytime by leaving a message on the answermachine. please do not book an appointment with a doctor if only a repeat prescription is required if you include a stamped addressed envelope with the counterfoil we will post the prescription out to you, or you can ask one of the local pharmacists to collect the prescription and deliver medication to your home. please give 48 hours notice when ordering repeat prescriptions. a doctor will review your prescription on a regular basis and you may be asked to make an appointment to discuss your medication. © nhs commissioning board. developed by north of england commissioning support unit . services practice team c ontact us on-line services patient resources practice policies s ite map a ccessibility terms of use data protection freedom of information privacy this site uses cookies to help improve your browsing experience. you can find out more by reading our cookie policy more info don't show this message again
